Safe in Tees Valley calls on Businesses to
“UNITE TO FIGHT BUSINESS CRIME”

In a major new project managed by former senior policeman, Brian Neale, Safe in Tees Valley* (SITV), is providing the focus for a co-ordinated drive to tackle the different types of business crime with the greatest potential to damage individual businesses and weaken the economy.

Keeping staff and businesses safe and secure from crime has always been a business priority. In these challenging economic times, it can make all the difference between survival and failure, yet the situation is complex with the types of crime involved vary dramatically from sector to sector and location to location. While ‘traditional’ business crimes, such as shoplifting, burglary and vandalism, are still the most debilitating for some businesses, they have been replaced for others by ‘electronic age’ crimes such as credit card fraud, personality theft, computer hacking etc.

As a first step, Brian is calling on businesses to let him know which types of crime affect them the most, together with their own ideas of what is needed to counter them. Views are also sought on the option of establishing a dedicated, interactive website as a gateway to business crime prevention. Please complete the simple response form below.

Feedback from businesses will be the key factor in determining the methods that are adopted to support businesses in tackling the crimes that represent the biggest threat to their prosperity.
