Safe in Tees Valley Community Reporters Programme is about getting communities and services talking to each other by using different types of social media to let people know what is happening in their neighbourhoods.

It helps communities stand together to tackle issues that they feel are affecting their neighbourhoods and therefore bring about positive change that will make their community a better place to live.

The programme is also an opportunity to shout about what is great about a community.

The programme encourages children, young people  and the wider community to take pride in their neighbourhoods and gives them an opportunity to take an active role in making changes that will improve their neighbourhoods by making them cleaner, greener and safer.

You will have the opportunity to use cameras and other media related equipment, build, produce and maintain podcasts, blogs, and DVDs and upload your work to facebook and other social networking sites.

You will also work closely with local community groups and services to produce newsletters, posters and leaflets to spread the word about issues affecting communities as well as children and young people.
