Community Space Challenge is a programme  for young people just like you who live in the Tees Valley area.

Its an opportunity for you to work with others of all  different ages to take on projects in run down and forgotten spaces and in a joint effort, change them into fresh green places for everyone to use and enjoy.
Redcar & Cleveland and Middlesbrough were just 2 of 70 areas Nationally that focus on involving young in learning about the environment, growing fresh food, creating sensory and wildlife community gardens, and linking them into their communities, these areas have now expanded to include Darlington, Hartlepool and Stockton On Tees.

Community Space Challenge is not just a one-day makeover or quick fix – it’s been a five year commitment. Thanks to over £8 million intitial funding by the Big Lottery and Catch 22 it will continue until September 2012 intitially with new and exciting projects following on into 2013 and beyond. You too can be part of some of the opportunities Safe In Tees Valley have to offer.
