Police & Crime Volunteers make a difference...

Posted : 26/09/2013

A group of Safe in Tees Valley National Citizen Service (NCS) 2012 Graduates have spent the last year volunteering their time as Cleveland Police & Crime Youth Forum members. In their role as Forum members; they have worked for  6 months to plan and deliver a Social Action Project in Quenby Road, Billingham.

The group identified a piece of land which was previously used as a dumping ground and they have transformed it into a community space for residents to enjoy and engage in positive activities.

The Safe in Tees Valley Volunteers accessed funding through Keyfund to provide a seating and BBQ area as well as dedicating over 70 hours of their time to make a real difference in this community.

Tonight local children described the Volunteers as "brilliant" and "amazing" and thanked them for giving them somewhere safe to play.
