Safe in Tees Valley Hosts Enterprise Ambition...

Posted : 29/10/2013

An exciting opportunity is on offer for Safe in Tees Valley existing and potential new member organisations. Members are invited to bring young people to a local event led by Ambition; the UK’s leading charity for youth clubs and projects. Training to prepare members to support the event - and deliver future events using online resources and e-leaning - is also on offer.

Ambition has secured funding from Royal Bank of Scotland to deliver an Inspiring Enterprise initiative called Enterprise Ambition. The new programme aims to:

* Develop young people's skills and understanding in business enterprise which can support them in future employment as well as individual enterprise initiatives

* Raise awareness, skills and knowledge in youth clubs and youth community projects of the value of business enterprise programmes

For young people and youth organisations it will mean:

* The chance to learn about enterprise, develop new skills and test developed business ideas with trained mentors

* Training for youth workers in business enterprise programmes

* Young people with new skills in enterprise which are transferable to future employment opportunities

* An opportunity to attend regional networking sessions about enterprise

* The chance of small start-up loans through developing a business idea and plan

Enterprise Ambition is being piloted nationally during 2013.

* A commitment to business enterprise programmes, either through previous experience or identified need in your locality

* Ability to recruit and retain groups of 6 young people who are aged 14+ to attend an EVENT on Saturday 16th November @ 11.00am-4.00pm (Venue to be confirmed)

* One or two staff who would receive some training about the programme on Thursday 7th November, 10.00am-3.00pm @ Safe in Tees Valley and learn how to support young people using the online resources and e-learning
