National Youth Agency thanks partners for a fantastic Barclays MoneySkills project!

Posted : 27/11/2014

In 2014 Youth Federation undertook a programme to teach young people about money, how banking works and how to budget responsibly. Youth Federation had fantastic programme overachieving on its target of 150 young people on the programme. The National Youth Agency have sent their thanks to all partners for all their hard work on the programme;

"The National Youth Agency would like to say huge THANK YOU to all the organisations, support workers and young people who helped to make the project such a success.

Together we trained 5,284 champions, who have passed on their new found knowledge to 121,000 other young people through peer education.

You also helped to engage over 750 Barclays volunteers who delivered sessions on budgeting, saving, loans and credit.

In the news… Children and Young People Now magazine used Barclays Money Skills ‘champions’ as a case study of good practice in July, just after the project came to an end. More recently, the magazine reported on the project’s fantastic final results. The project gained lots of media coverage, both locally and nationally, since it began in early 2012. The media’s interest in this project is a testament the hard work you have put in and the impact it has had on the young people you work with.
