New funding for Positive Activities for Young People in Middlesbrough...

Posted : 15/11/2015

Safe in Tees Valley has secured a contract to deliver Positive Activities for Young People in Middlesbrough; on behalf of Middlesbrough Council Neighbourhood Safety Team and funded by Police & Crime Commissioner for Cleveland.

Over the next 18 months we will work with young people, partners and other stakeholders in Middlesbrough to provide youth-led and run diversionary and positive activities, early intervention, and personal and social development to help young people make positive lifestyle choices.

Our assertive youth work approach will reduce the risk of anti-social behaviour (ASB), and divert those involved in ASB towards positive activities.

Having been awarded the contract in October; we kick-started positive and diversionary activities over the Halloween and Bonfire Night period as part of Operation Autumnus. Over 150 young people benefitted and engaged with the project.
