Successful project application...

Posted : 05/05/2016

As a UK Youth Lead Member, Safe in Tees Valley have been successful in our application to be part of the Big Music Project.

The Big Music Project is a partnership between UK Youth (the largest national charity for the youth sector) and Global Radio (who own Capital, Capital XTRA, Radio X and others). Funded by The Big Lottery Fund the project will create UK wide development opportunities to 14-19 year olds. The consortium brings the full weight of the music industry into play, using the reach of Global Radio and their Capital Brand and the grassroots networks of UK Youth to connect with millions of young people around the UK through their love of music.

Safe in Tees Valley, along with over 100 other organisations across the UK, will become a Big Music Project 'Hub' and enjoy being part of an exciting UK-wide music network.

The Project will equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to create a successful future within the music and creative industries, as well as building their general employability skills. We will work with the biggest brands in music, breaking barriers, creating and highlighting the best opportunities for young people, running everything from training schemes and careers advice to work experience, internships and hands-on skills building projects. We will inspire young people by showcasing the range of roles within the music and creative industries, whilst motivating them to launch their careers.

We will be recruiting 10 Big Music Project Champions (aged 14-19 years) to lead our Hub. For more information about the project - or to get involved - please contact
