Safe In Tees Valley become 'Scam Champions'
The Safe in Tees Valley staff have recently attended training delivered the National Trading Standards Team to learn about the most prevalent types of scams and frauds committed across the Durham and Cleveland areas.
In total 31 member of the team from the Victim Care and Advice Service, National Citizens Service, Volunteer Police Cadets and Youth Employment Initiative are proud to have become ‘Scam Champions’
We are now delivering a highly effective Scam and Fraud awareness and prevention session right across the breadth of our service in support of local Policing and Trading Standards strategies.
The Victim Care and Advice Service are hosting a bespoke Friends Against Scams session at Police Headquarters for people who have either fallen victim to Fraud or Scams or feel that they are vulnerable to such crime. In addition Volunteers are visiting housebound or isolated victims of Scams to deliver a ‘one on one’ session.
The next planned ‘Friends’ session is to take place at Ladgate Lane Police Headquarters at 6.30pm on Tuesday 25th April 2017 anyone wishing to attend or if you would prefer a home visit are invited to ring the Victim Care and Advice Service on free phone 0303 040 1099.
