Safe in Tees Valley News

NCS isn’t just a 4 week summer programme

Posted : 17/09/2018

Our fantastic NCS Graduate, Amy, has recently took part in NCS Leaders and this is what she had to say about it;

“NCS Leaders was amazing! We did different stuff like one day we were given Oyster cards in teams and we had to go on the tubes on like a treasure hunt across London. One day we went to Parliament to look around the House of Commons and we did pledges from our region so for North East we talked about the lack of opportunities for young people in comparison to the South in regards to funding etc. We completed some social action in a graveyard (picking weeds and laying some stone barriers etc.). We went to a recording studio for television and radio and got a taste of what it would be like in case we are required to advocate for NCS in the future as well as going to the NCS trust building with the CEO and meeting their marketing staff and lawyers which was quite interesting to see how they manage their providers. I had a really good time, plus there was a party, and an outdoor cinema too. Such an amazing experience!

Amy was able to attend NCS Leaders because she joined our Regional Youth Board which has opened up other doors for her. As well as having such a great attitude and passion for NCS. Thank you Amy for representing Safe in Tees Valley. You’re a star!
