'Question time with Police and crime commissioner candidates

Posted : 02/07/2012

On 15th November elections will be held to appoint a Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland.  This is a new idea which the Government hope will make the Police and criminal justice services more accountable to the public.

If you haven't heard about it already look out for information in the local media in the coming months - especially who is going to stand for election.

You may think this hasn't got a lot to do with you but it is vitally important that we get the right person in this influential and powerful position.

So your vote is IMPORTANT.

To help you decide who you would like to support, Safe in Tees Valley and the University of Teesside are going to hold a 'hustings' event on 7th November that will be open to the public and all candidates wishing to become PCC.

Put this date in your diary and watch the local press for details of how you can reserve a place at this important event.
