Ministerial Visit

Posted : 13/08/2013

Nick Hurd MP, Minister for the Civil Society, spent the morning visiting one of Safe in Tees Valley’s National Citizen Service(NCS) social action projects.

For the past two weeks a team of young people have been working to create a sensory garden at the Teesside Activity Support Centre in Middlesbrough, which caters for severely handicapped adults.

The project has involved clearing an overgrown area at the rear of the building, installing paths and flower beds and repainting and decorating walls and fences.

Following the visit Nick Hurd tweeted ‘Congrats to all NCS grads in Middlesbrough and Redcar today.  Seriously impressed.’
